How to Apply Your DTF Transfer

Heat press recommended for best results. Iron or Cricut press work too.

Place the transfer on your garment with design facing up

Position

Lay your garment flat. Position the transfer on the garment with the design side facing up.

Pre-press the garment for 5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles
Press the transfer at 285–300°F for 8–12 seconds with medium pressure

Press

Press at 285–300°F for 8–12 seconds with medium, even pressure. Polyester needs lower settings; check our heat-press instructions before pressing.

Use a teflon sheet between the press and the film for the cleanest finish
Peel the film while still hot

Peel

Peel immediately, or let the transfer cool before peeling. Keep your hand close to the garment and peel across it. Cold peel works best for fine lines and details.

Press Again

How do I order a ready-to-press design?

Choose a design, open its product page and select an available size and quantity. The artwork is already prepared, so you do not need to upload a file for that premade design. Review the product’s options before adding it to your cart.

How do I choose a transfer size for my shirt?

Measure the placement area on your actual garment and compare it with the size information on the product page. Consider pockets, seams and the overall look you want. Use the S2T placement guide as a starting point, then check your blank.

Can I use my own artwork instead of a ready-to-press design?

Yes. Choose DTF Transfers by Size to upload your artwork and request its size, or use the DTF Gang Sheet Builder to arrange your own designs on a sheet. Those are separate custom-order options.

Do DTF transfers include a shirt or digital download?

No. You are ordering a physical printed transfer. Shirts and other blanks are not included, and this is not a digital artwork download.

How do I apply a fabric DTF transfer?

Use a heat press on a compatible fabric blank and follow the current S2T DTF pressing instructions for temperature, time, pressure and peeling. Check the instructions before each project and test unfamiliar fabrics.

How long do printing and shipping take?

We print in one business day. Orders placed before noon Eastern Tuesday through Friday qualify for same-day printing. Shipping time depends on the service you select, averaging about one business day within Florida and 3–5 business days overall. Shipping estimates are not guaranteed delivery dates. Printing turnaround and carrier transit are separate.

What fabrics can I apply DTF transfers to?

S2 fabric DTF transfers work on cotton, polyester and blends, including suitable fleece and canvas. Follow the S2 settings for your fabric and equipment, and test the garment before making a batch. Polyester needs the lower settings in the heat-press guide.

How many washes do S2 DTF transfers last?

S2 DTF transfers are designed to last 75 washes when applied correctly and cared for according to S2’s instructions. Wash inside out in cold water with mild detergent, avoid bleach and fabric softener, and tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not iron directly over the print.
