Heat press patches are physical patches with a heat-activated adhesive backing. A heat press applies the heat, time and pressure needed to bond them to compatible fabric. The term describes how a patch is applied, rather than its material. S2 Transfers currently offers custom leatherette patches.
Are leatherette patches made from real leather?
No. Leatherette is a synthetic material with a leather-like appearance. S2 Transfers’ current leatherette patches are a separate material from genuine leather. Choose your color, shape and size on the product page.
Can I put heat press patches on hats?
Yes, on compatible hats that can tolerate the required pressing conditions. Check the available front-panel space, seams, curvature and press contact before choosing a patch size. S2 Transfers recommends a maximum of 2.7 inches high by 4 inches wide for its leatherette hat patches; the best fit depends on your hat.
What temperature and time should I use for patches?
Use the pressing instructions supplied with your specific S2 Transfers patch order. Settings depend on the patch, adhesive backing, fabric and heat press. Do not substitute DTF transfer settings or another supplier’s patch settings. Test one patch on your chosen blank before pressing a full batch.
Do heat press patches need to be sewn on?
S2 Transfers’ heat-applied leatherette patches are designed to attach without sewing when applied to compatible fabric using the supplied instructions. A sew-on patch or a different backing has different requirements. Check the product and intended use before ordering.
What is the minimum order for custom leatherette patches?
The minimum order for S2 Transfers Leatherette Patches is 10 patches per design. If you have multiple designs, add each design as a separate order item. Choose your options on the product page to see the configured price.
Will I see my patch design before production?
Yes. S2 Transfers reviews your uploaded artwork and sends a digital proof for approval before production. Check the design, spelling, shape and size carefully when you review your proof.
Which artwork files can I upload?
The Leatherette Patches product accepts PNG, SVG, AI, PDF and JPG artwork. Upload a clear, high-resolution file or a suitable vector file. The S2 Transfers team reviews the artwork before sending your proof.
Am I ordering patches or finished hats?
You are ordering custom patches to apply to your own compatible blanks. Hats, apparel and bags shown here demonstrate placement and styling; they are not included with your patch order.
Will S2 Transfers offer other types of patches?
Yes. S2 Transfers plans to expand its patch range to include genuine leather, acrylic, embroidered patches and more. Leatherette is the current focus. Check the available products before ordering; future materials and their application methods will be listed as they launch.
